Badminton Competition was organized in IPEM Law Academy on 15th Oct 2016 at 3:00 PM in Badminton Court. Around 14 students (Boys and Girls) representing different semesters LL.B and B.A.LL.B participated in the Badminton competition.

The workshop was headed by Principal IPEM Law Academy. The esteemed Alumni Ms. Noopur Goel addressed the audience with their enlightened views.

This lecture was started with the need of IP in copyrights and related rights. The rights for reproduction and the ethics in handling these assets were presented. The legal basis of copyright infringement and plagiarism were elaborated with respect to the rights for reproduction/copy. The emerging concept of creative commons and the existence of various data bases academic and plagiarism platforms were discussed. UGC 2018 regulations of promotion and academic strategy and presentation of plagiarism in higher education institutions was presented. Thus the concepts involved in copyrights and plagiarism were outlined. Finally very good discussions are made to clarify many aspects regarding IPR related doubts by faculty and students.

The objective of the workshop was to sensitize the participants on gender issues, to help them be aware of gender biases, to help them resolve interpersonal conflicts arising from gender issues and to enable them to act assertively and respond to challenges in workplace. The Workshop was held with the intention that regular workshops should be conducted to create awareness about gender issues.

The whole event was addressed by esteemed alumni Mr. Vikas Mudgal. He talked about patriarchy, violence in the family as well as issues related to gender inequality in our society.

The participants participated actively in the open house discussion and were appreciative about getting an opportunity to know and discuss gender sensitivity and implementation of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal), Act 2013.

Around 45 participants attended this workshop.

The workshop begins with the History of Intellectual Property from beginning to evolving phase. Subsequently explaining the formation of World Intellectual Property Organization and its roles and functions i.e., IPR agreement administration, IPR Practices harmonization.

Further explaining the Indian scenario of Intellectual property system and the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademarks, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion. Subsequently explaining the roles and functions of Intellectual property Office in India.

Finally explaining the process of filing the Patent application, Copyright application, Trademark application, Design application and the Scheme for Facilitating Start-ups Intellectual Property Protection. At last, the audience praised the whole session.

Total 43 students along with 5 faculty members attended the event.

The legal basis of IPR and then various forms were discussed. The ethos and process vs. product patents, trade secrete protection, designs, copyrights etc., and the basis of the expectance of various IPR. Problems were discussed the types of patents software patent, business method patent, design pattern were elaborated. The wealth of patents in developed countries like USA, Japan and Europe are projected and compared with Indian status indicating poorness with the wealth of IP in India, a focus of the important of commercialization of patents was projected.
