• Activity & Topic : Debate Competition on “ Winning in Digital Age”- For/ Against.

• Time Duration: 2:30- 3:30 pm (one hour)
• Language: Hindi/ English
• Team Criteria: Minimum 2 teams from each semester of LL.B and BA.LL.B will participate.

• Rules & Judgement Criteria:

1. 1. Content should be Relevant, Meaningful, and No Repetition of sentences.
   2. Proper understanding and explanation of the topic.
   3. Modulation in Voice.
   4. The debate must only be in AGAINST or in FAVOR of the topic given.
   5. The data, index, numbers, digits must have practical reality (not fake), if used.
   6. Timings – Min. 4 minutes & Max. 6 minutes.

DOCUMENTARY COMPETITION 2019

IPEM Law Academy – IT Club organized DOCUMENTARY COMPETITION on 31st August 2019 in which students from both BA.LL.B and LL.B participated.

The basic objective of this Documentary Competition was to prepare the Students about the Basic usage of different Software available for Short Movie Making etc. and to provide a platform where they can share their views on the Indian Judicial System with the help of Animations and Emotions.

On 13th April 2019, IPEM Law Academy organized Moot Court in the College campus on Constitutional Provision & it was judged by our Alumni Mr. Sandeep & Ms. Kanchanlata. This was the last moot court of this session in which fourteen teams have taken part from LLB & BALLB & got a chance to learn the proceeding of the Court. The judges appreciated the effects of the students.

On 7/09/2019 IPEM Law Academy had organized the First Moot Court Competition of this session in College. In this competition total of 16 teams from various Semesters had taken part & show their knowledge. This was Judge by Alumni Ms. Pooja & Ms. Surbhi both are practicing lawyers. At last two winners were selected from BALLB & One from LLB The event was ended with the valuable words of Dr. Sehgal who briefly explained the importance of moot court & motivated all students especially BALLB (3^rd Sem) who participated the first time. Both the judges also motivated our students 7 appreciated their efforts.  The entire event was attended by more than 100 students.

IPEM Law Academy – Communication Club organized an event on the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on 15.10.2019. Students from both LL.B and BA.LL.B participated.

Objectives of the Event: Students are like clay; they can be modified in a way that will make their future bright and meaningful. With good efforts, we can mould the character of a student. A day dedicated to them will obviously make them feel special and will motivate them to always aim for better in life. Recently, in the year 2010, United Nations Organization (UNO) declared the birth date of APJ Abdul Kalam’s, 15th October as “World Student Day” as a mark of honour. This day is a celebration of multiculturalism, diversity and cooperation among students across the world. Furthermore, to enhance the public speaking skills of students.

Platform Used: G-1 Hall, IPEM Law Campus

Conduct Methodology: Dr. Kalam always encouraged students to do better in life through his writings and speeches.

1. His speeches, milestones &  biographies were being showcased during the event.
2. Students were then given speeches in Hindi and English.

List of Choices on which the student can speak up his/her thoughts:

• Audio/Visual Presentation on Dr. Kalam’s invention and leadership skills.
• Declamation- Re-Delivering the popular speech of Dr. Kalam in your own words.
• Kalam as an Icon

1. 1. for advancement in Science & Technology,
   2. As a political Icon and
   3. As a social icon.

Rules & Regulation:

• Speech/ Presentation should not be more than 3 minutes,
• Students can present through paper or PowerPoint presentation,
• The Presentation is in Hindi/ English,
• Picture / Videos should be real and not against any legal action,
• The declamation activity must not change the meaning of the original speech
• Religious, Cultural, or any other personal sentiments should be respected.
• The judgment criteria will be based on the content, body language, confidence level, and voice modulation of a speaker/ presenter.

Note: The duplicity of content must not be acceptable; the students can take the references from the internet and try to write or present in their own words.

A debate competition on 28.09.2019 for B.A.LL.B 2nd Semester Students was organized by IPEM Law Academy. Around 35 students participated in the competition and the competition was judged by our esteemed Alumni Advocate Arun Kumar. The Topics for debate competition were – “Will women be equal to men?” & Youth migration from India- A Curse or Boon”. Pramod Kumar, Garima Bharti, & Divyanshu Verma ranked First, Second & Third respectively.

About 30 students participated the same. Our esteemed Alumni Advocate Jyoti Gandhi & Advocate Surjan Yadav were present as a Judge.Dr. B.P.S. Sehgal Director Law Academy addressed the students. The students expressed their views about different topics very well. Ms. Vaishali Bhardwaj,     Ms. Shivani Sharma & Ms. Garima Bharti got first, second and third prize respectively. Also our guest delivered some keynote things to the student which was very beneficial for them. And he also told the students about the problems and stages which they will face in future in their respective field.

 The purpose of this competition was to create argumentative quality of the students and to increase learners’ confidence, poise, and self-esteem. Providing an engaging, active, learner-centered activity. Improving rigorous higher order and critical thinking skills. Enhancing the ability to structure and organize thoughts.

Dr. B.P.S.Sehgal Director IPEM Law Academy felicitated the guests and at last he addressed the students in the event and motivated them to take part in such type of activities more rigorously.

Ms. Sanchi Chaturvedi (Public Information Centre) briefed about the social media. There was also a short video message by the Secretary-General of UN Antonio Guterres on the occasion of International Women Day.

Ms. Vaishali Bhardwaj (Student) proposed a vote of thanks to the Institute and the members of UNIC who arranged the visit. The members of UNIC also provided the free literature to our students which included the UN Charter.
